Poem #6

6. (8-24-19, Route 202)

I wore a long-sleeved shirt all day

It wasn’t so hot, August late

Granted, sea islands are windy

But even here near home, the sky is that crisp shade of grey

Apple picking has started in Auburn

Some of the trees have reddened a tad,

And that makes me smile

Fall won’t be a while
