44. (05/22/2020, at home) Warm Weather, Happy Wonder


Summer heat has blazened, graced us

Upwards balmy 89, of Fahrenheit

Even just the other day was so cold

I’m glad winter is finally behind


I sit and write in the shade of the deck

A hawk wheels high, not but a speck

Sweet dates grace my tongue from a bowl

They’re chopped and sugared and wonderful

I sip golden iced tea from a mason jar glass

A creation of mine, it’s honey chamomile

Sunk below cubes a lemon lozenge and dates

Tasty treats for flavor and soothing
